After her return from Montreux and in the perspective of the upcoming G8 and G20, Nicole Guedj, published today a column on LeMonde.fr : "After Haiti, the creation of Red Helmets at the UN is a compulsory step to a new humanitarian governance"






From the 22nd to the 24th of October, the city of Montreux in Switzerland will host the 13th Summit of the International Organisation of the Francophonie. This will be the occasion for its 32 members and observers to discuss the challenges linked to the practice of French in the world.

The first aim of this international organisation is to federate French speaking states in order to define common political actions. During this summit, which also marks the 4th decade of existence of this organisation, the topics to be debated are diverse.




Paris, on October 11th, 2010 - The French blog, Influence Ethique, begins a series of interviews of Community Managers working in the non-profit sector. To inaugurate this series, Aurelia Courtot has chosen the Community Manager of the Red Helmets Foundation, Pierre-Antoine Dujardin.

Since the opening of the Millennium Development Goals Summit, on Monday, the 65th General Assembly of the UN entered its working phase. Last week, its task was to define the subjects that will be studied during the present session.

Funding issues – notably that of the UN mission in DRC – is also on the agenda. The way these funds are actually used should also be the subject of many discussions. The Red Helmets Foundation is aware that the importance of donations is linked to the transparency in their utilisation.






In 1983, the 30th of August has been consecrated  "International Day for the Disappeared". Each year, it is the occasion to evoke these dramatic situations endured by thousands of persons.

The causes of disappearances are numerous; they go from armed conflicts to natural catastrophes. During the last decade, floods, earthquakes and hurricanes are responsible for the major part of disappearances.






Pakistan has been suffering from terrible floods for a whole month now. More than a fifth of the country is currently under water. According to the UN, it is the worst flood in Pakistan's history.

The Pakistani government stated that the toll is already heavy: at least 1600






In a letter addressed to Nicole Guedj, the Slovak Republic President, Ivan Gasparovic, expressed his support to the Red Helmets project.  






Under the presidency of Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, Togo backs Red Helmets project.

The Togolese President considers that it is necessary to sponsor Nicole Guedj's project, especially regarding its objectives in terms of scouting, coordination and intervention in places of humanitarian catastrophes.






It was with obvious pleasure that Malia’s President, Amadou Toumani Toure, expressed his backing of the Red Helmets’ project to Nicole Guedj.






The president of the Lebanon Republic, the General Michel Sleiman brings his commitment to the Red Helmets project.
