In Haiti, Nicole Guedj, former French Minister and President of the Red Helmets Foundation, has presented her project of Red Helmets to the Haitian President. During an improvised press conference, René Préval has emphasized the urgent need to create Red Helmets at the UN.
Two weeks after the terrible earthquake which ravaged Haiti and its capital Port-au-Prince, a poll OpinionWay realized for the Red Helmets Foundation reveals that 94 % of the French population is favourable to the creation of a humanitarian international task force, placed under the aegis of the UN, to coordinate the rescue teams on the theatre of major disasters*.
Nicole Guedj will act as a moderator of the workshop on: ‘local authority and humanitarian aid. Emergency, Reconstruction: Which assistance is to be privileged?’ Friday 20 November, at the Francophone Meeting’s on Cooperation and International Solidarity.
