To celebrate the 50th years of Space exploration, the Red Helmets Foundation, in partnership with the French Spatial Agency (CNES) and Thales Alenia Space, is exhibiting its humanitarian container for satellite telecommunications and information exchange, a device which is the only one of its kind in the world.
While the first operational version of EMERGESAT is currently being deployed in Chad, through a partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the aim of the exhibition at the « Palais de la Découverte » Museum is to raise public awareness of how new Space technologies are being used to manage humanitarian missions in response to crises.
The EMERGESAT exhibition will culminate in a special presentation evening at the « Palais de la Découverte » Museum on February 4th, 2008, during which the container's potential will be demonstrated.
