In a letter addressed to Nicole Guedj, the Slovak Republic President, Ivan Gasparovic, expressed his support to the Red Helmets project.
The Slovak President approved and welcomed at the same time the initiative conducing to the creation of an International Humanitarian Reaction Force, placed under the leadership of the UN, as an aspiration to enhance United Nations humanitarian actions.
President Gasparovic assured that his country supports the effort to reinforce and render more efficient the UNs capabilities in the specific fields of peace building, conflict prevention, but also to reinforce the coordination in regions facing humanitarian crises.
